Dr. Jimmy C. Sung is a highly-skilled, board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He was awarded a dual full scholarship from the University of Illinois and received doctorate degrees in law (J.D.) and medicine (M.D.). He completed his plastic surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh, where he was the Chief Administrative Resident. The Pitt Plastic Surgery training program has consistently ranked number one in the country. He received his bachelor’s degree in philosophy with honors from the University of Chicago. The focus of his undergraduate thesis was aesthetics-philosophy of art.
Dr. Sung has published numerous academic journals and textbooks. He is a recipient of the Excellence in Research Award from the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons (NESPS), The New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons (NYSSPS), American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) Committee on Regenerative Medicine, International Society of Plastic Regenerative Surgeons (ISPRS), a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a faculty member of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical College.
Dr. Sung travels globally to attend medical conferences and maintain the latest and most modern technology and skills in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures. He is often invited as a guest to share his wide-ranging knowledge in both invasive and non-invasive cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.
In his spare time, Dr. Sung enjoys photography, traveling, film, and culinary pursuits. Dr. Sung lives and works in Manhattan and is active in community affairs.

MANHATTAN EYE, EAR & THROAT HOSPITAL (MEETH)
Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (MEETH) opened its doors to patients on October 15, 1869 at its original location, 223 East 34th Street. At the time, much of the city did not have access to many vital services and the lack of basic healthcare drastically affected everyday life. Faced with this reality, the New York state legislature issued a charter to found a voluntary, non-profit hospital whose mission was to “…alleviate the sufferings of the poor, the prevention of pauperism, and the cultivation and diffusion of sound knowledge of all that relates to the diseases of the eye and ear.” Since its founding, MEETH has built upon its proud tradition of providing patient-centered care and has grown to become the world-renowned facility that it is today.
